Writing
I honed my writing and editing skills in newspaper and television newsrooms, but that's only the first page. I hold a bachelor's degree in professional writing/journalism from Pittsburg State University, and a master's degree in writing/rhetoric from the University of Colorado at Denver. Freelance projects have included newsletters for a state agency, articles for magazines, sales copy for Web sites and poetry and fiction in national and international literary journals including Room of One's Own, Radiance Magazine, and Show Me the Ozarks.
I write a bi-weekly column, "Back to the Rat Race," for Joplin Tri-State Business. It's also available on my blog.
